Another fantasy comedy manga is joining the anime queue, geng. Dark Summoner to Dekiteiru, also known in English as I'm Dating a Dark Summoner, has been announced for a TV anime adaptation scheduled for 2026.

According to MyAnimeList News, the announcement came from WWWaveCorporation's Deregula label, which revealed that Shaoh's web manga is being adapted for television. To mark the news, the original creator also drew a special commemorative illustration.

For those who have not been following the manga side, Dark Summoner to Dekiteiru began serialization on the Dra-Dra Sharp# website in November 2021. The series has continued to build enough momentum for Kadokawa to publish its seventh volume on March 9, which is usually a healthy sign that the title has found a steady reader base.

The story centres on Amona, a dark summoner and demi-human. Based on the setup, this looks like the kind of fantasy comedy that plays with monster-girl, magic, and relationship chaos rather than going full serious dark fantasy. In other words, not every “dark summoner” title needs to be edgy boss-fight material — sometimes it is just weird, cute, and probably very chaotic in the best way.

For Malaysian and SEA anime fans, this is one to keep on the radar mainly because the region has a strong appetite for fantasy comedy adaptations. Titles with easy-to-grasp hooks tend to travel well here, especially when they land on accessible streaming platforms. No Malaysian or SEA streaming details have been announced yet, so jangan excited sangat dulu — we still need to wait and see whether it gets picked up by the usual legal channels in our region.

The bigger question is how the anime will position itself in 2026. Fantasy adaptations are everywhere now, and the genre is crowded gila. To stand out, Dark Summoner to Dekiteiru will need more than just a quirky title. The chemistry between Amona and the rest of the cast, the comedy timing, and the studio's approach to the fantasy elements will matter a lot. If the anime leans hard into its personality instead of becoming another generic magic-world romcom, it could find a nice niche audience.

For now, the key details are simple: the anime is real, it is planned for 2026, and the manga already has multiple volumes behind it. Cast, studio, staff, trailer, broadcast season, and streaming availability were not included in the initial announcement, so fans should expect more updates later.

If you enjoy fantasy comedy manga with supernatural romance energy, keep this one in your seasonal watchlist folder. Not a must-hype-yet title, but definitely a “let's see the first PV” kind of project.
