Netflix is wasting no time with Devil May Cry. After the animated series landed its first season on April 3, the streamer confirmed a sequel just a week later — and now we’ve got a second official trailer plus a fresh key visual putting Dante and Vergil front and centre.
Devil May Cry Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on May 12, 2026, so fans won’t be stuck waiting ages for the next round of demon-slaying chaos. For Malaysian and SEA viewers, that’s the good part of this being a Netflix release: no hunting around random sites, no “when is this coming here ah?” drama — assuming it follows the same platform rollout, it should be an easy couch-watch for local fans.
The project was originally revealed back in September 2023 as an anime series from Capcom, Studio Mir, and Adi Shankar. That combo already had people curious, because Devil May Cry is not the kind of franchise you can adapt with sleepy action scenes. The whole appeal is style — ridiculous combos, swagger, demons getting deleted, and Dante acting like the coolest guy in the room even when everything is on fire.
Season 2’s new visual continuing to highlight Dante and Vergil is also a smart move. Even casual fans know the brothers are a huge part of the franchise’s identity, and putting them together in the marketing instantly tells long-time players, “okay bro, we’re going there.”
Adi Shankar also previously teased his mission for the new season earlier this week, along with some preview images. No massive plot dump was included in the source material, but the push around the trailer and key art suggests Netflix wants to keep momentum high after Season 1’s debut.

This also isn’t Devil May Cry’s first anime rodeo. Studio MADHOUSE previously produced a 12-episode anime adaptation that premiered in June 2007, focusing more on Dante’s everyday work as a demon hunter.
For SEA anime fans, this one sits in a fun middle ground: it’s not just another game adaptation, and it’s not just nostalgia bait either. Devil May Cry has enough history for veteran PlayStation-era fans, enough action for shonen watchers, and enough style to pull in people who just want something loud, sharp, and cool after work.
If Season 2 can make Dante and Vergil hit as hard on-screen as they do in the games, this could be one of Netflix’s more exciting anime drops of 2026.
