Dragon Ball Gets New Jump Festa Art, but Don’t Mistake It for an Anime Reveal

Dragon Ball has fresh artwork heading into Jump Festa, but there’s an important distinction: this is a merchandise reveal, not a first look at the next anime storyline. AMNIBUS has unveiled an illustration featuring Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo and Gotenks for its presence at the event on December 19–20, 2026.

For anyone waiting on the continuation of Dragon Ball Super, that difference is worth keeping in mind before the hype runs away with itself.

A familiar squad, with a journey theme

The new illustration is branded around Dragon Ball Z, bringing together five familiar fighters in appearances associated with the original story’s final saga. Rather than introducing a new transformation or teasing an upcoming battle, the artwork uses the idea of a “journey” as its central concept.

AMNIBUS confirmed that Dragon Ball Z will feature at its Jump Festa booth and said more information will follow. The artwork was unveiled alongside illustrations for other properties, including Jujutsu Kaisen and Spy x Family.

What hasn’t been detailed in the supplied report is the merchandise lineup. There are no specific products or prices to break down yet, so the illustration is the main reveal for now.

One potentially confusing detail: the promotional post calls the event Jump Festa 2027, while its actual dates fall in December 2026. Those are the dates attached to this announcement, not a separate event happening the following year.

Don’t read this as a Galactic Patrol update

The bigger question hanging over the franchise is its anime future. According to ComicBook’s report, Toei Animation has confirmed that Dragon Ball Super will continue with the Galactic Patrol Saga, moving the story beyond the Tournament of Power.

However, the report says that continuation still has neither a release window nor a teaser. Nothing in the AMNIBUS artwork changes that.

There is also no announced Dragon Ball stage panel in the Jump Festa lineup described by the source. The event’s website published its participating manga and anime titles in September, and the franchise was absent, including from the headline Super Stage roster.

That does not establish that an announcement elsewhere is impossible. It simply means this booth reveal should not be treated as evidence that a major anime presentation is coming.

Where the Beerus remake fits

Separately, the source places Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in the October 2026 anime lineup. It describes that project as a remake revisiting the early material, aiming for a closer adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s story with refreshed visuals and revised pacing.

That is distinct from the Galactic Patrol continuation. The original Dragon Ball Super television run began in 2015 and finished its Tournament of Power storyline in 2018; the planned continuation would take the anime beyond that stopping point.

Why this matters for Malaysia and SEA readers

Our take: the useful takeaway is knowing which kind of announcement you’re looking at. Merchandise artwork, a remake and a story continuation can all carry the Dragon Ball name, but they answer very different questions.

If you’re following from Malaysia or elsewhere in SEA, this reveal gives you new art to appreciate—not a viewing date to put in your calendar. Enjoy the squad getting another spotlight, but keep expectations for the Galactic Patrol Saga tied to an actual anime announcement.
