Bandai Namco and Cover’s Gundam x Hololive crossover is starting to look like a proper fan-service bomb, bro. After the project was first announced back in March 2026, a new update from the Spring 2026 Gundam Conference has finally shown more of what fans can expect from the collaboration.
The basic idea is still the same: selected Hololive VTubers are being paired with the Gundam universe through fresh artwork, custom designs, music, stories, and other anime/mecha-themed content. This latest reveal focused on two things: the finished look for the first batch of talents, and the confirmation of who is joining in Phase 2.
For Phase 1, the featured Hololive members are Houshou Marine, Rindo Chihaya, Shirakami Fubuki, Hoshimachi Suisei, Hakui Koyori, and Sakura Miko. The update video shows all six in custom pilot suits, which is exactly the kind of crossover visual Gundam and VTuber fans were waiting for. After that, the trailer also shows chibi versions of the talents wearing what the project calls “nuigrumi armor” — basically cute hooded pajama-style outfits inspired by different Gundam units.
It is very plushie-coded, very collector-bait, and honestly very dangerous for anyone already weak to Gundam merch.
The video also reveals unique emblems for the Phase 1 members, giving the crossover a more official unit-squad feel instead of just being simple character art. That matters because Gundam fans love details like insignias, factions, suit motifs, and visual identity. If this project eventually expands into physical goods, those emblems could easily end up on acrylic stands, shirts, badges, or even Gunpla-adjacent accessories.
The bigger news for international fans is Phase 2. This second batch brings in Calliope Mori and IRyS, marking the first time Hololive English members have appeared in this particular Gundam collaboration. They will be joined by Oozora Subaru, Todoroki Hajime, Tsunomaki Watame, and Usada Pekora.
For Malaysia and SEA fans, the Hololive English inclusion is a pretty big deal. A lot of local viewers follow EN talents because the streams are easier to keep up with compared to full Japanese-only content. Having Calli and IRyS involved makes the crossover feel more accessible for fans outside Japan, especially in places like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines where both Gundam and VTuber fandoms are already strong.
Still, don’t expect everything to drop immediately. The project is still in progress, and the songs, mini episodes, stories, and other crossover content will take time to roll out. The official site also had not been updated yet at the time of the original report, so some details are still floating in trailer-only territory for now.
The one thing collectors really want to know — merch — is also still unconfirmed. There are no concrete product plans yet, so we don’t know if this will get goods similar to past Gundam crossover projects like the Hatsune Miku collaboration. If merch does happen, Malaysian fans should probably keep an eye on official Bandai Namco/Cover channels, local hobby shops, and import retailers, because Gundam x Hololive stock would not sit around for long.
For now, this is more of a hype checkpoint than a full launch. But with pilot suits, chibi Gundam armor, emblems, Phase 2 reveals, and Hololive EN finally entering the mix, the crossover is clearly building toward something bigger.
