Hell Mode Season 2 Adds Four New Cast Members Ahead of July Return

Hell Mode fans, the grind is not over yet. Season 2 of Hell Mode - The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing has revealed four more cast members, and the lineup is looking pretty stacked ahead of its July premiere.

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Hamuo and illustrated by Mo, a story that leans hard into that gamer-brain fantasy: what if you were dropped into another world, but the difficulty setting was absolutely nonsense? For anyone who enjoys isekai with RPG systems, min-maxing, and “bro this build is broken” energy, Hell Mode has always been one of those titles that knows exactly what crowd it is speaking to.

The latest cast additions are:

  • Reiji Kawashima as Keel, a boy who is very, very attached to money
  • Kiyono Yasuno as Sophialohne, princess of an Elven kingdom
  • Hikaru Midorikawa as Volmaar, Sophialohne’s guard
  • Miyu Tomita as Meruru, a dwarf with an extremely rare gift for military command

The staff had already confirmed earlier that Takahiro Sakurai will appear in the new season as Helmios, so Season 2 is clearly expanding the world beyond the first season’s main setup.

For Malaysian and SEA anime fans, this is the kind of summer-season announcement worth keeping on the watchlist. Hell Mode may not be the loudest isekai franchise in the room, but it sits nicely in that comfort zone for viewers who enjoy progression fantasy, stat screens, party roles, and overpowered strategy plays. Basically, if your Discord group loves debating builds in RPGs or gacha team comps, this one has the right flavour.

The first season premiered in Japan in January, with broadcast slots across channels including Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS NTV. It also streamed on Japanese platforms such as ABEMA, d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai. Internationally, HIDIVE streamed the anime as it aired and also carries an English dub.

Behind the anime, Masato Tamagawa directed the first season at Yokohama Animation Lab. Daishiro Tanimura handled the series scripts, while Kei Tsushima worked on character designs. Music duties were shared by Misaki Tsuchida, Moyu Kanazaki, Junko Nakajima, Kanade Sakuma, Reiko Abe, Kaho Sawada, BeauDamian, and Tsugumi Tanaka. The opening theme for Season 1 was “Haku” by Atarayo, while Kaya performed the ending theme “Sanctuary.”

The original Hell Mode story began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in November 2019 and is still ongoing. Earth Star Entertainment started publishing the print version in July 2020. The manga adaptation by Tetta launched on Comic Earth Star in October 2020 and is also ongoing.

Season 2 landing in July means Hell Mode will be part of the busy Summer 2026 anime conversation. For SEA viewers, the big thing to watch now is streaming access and whether the new season gets the same kind of international rollout as Season 1. If it does, this could be a solid weekly pick for fans who want something more RPG-grindy than standard fantasy fluff.
