Kylie Jenner Is Playing Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, And Honestly? She Gets It

Kylie Jenner talking about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was not on the 2026 bingo card, but here we are — and bro, she actually understood the assignment.

The reality star, businesswoman, and youngest Kardashian-Jenner sibling appeared on the latest episode of Therapuss, the podcast hosted by Jake Shane. During the hour-long chat, the conversation somehow landed on Nintendo’s open-world masterpiece, and Jenner took a moment to explain what Breath of the Wild is about.

Her summary was not perfect, but it was surprisingly solid for someone who described herself as still “kind of new” to Zelda. She called Breath of the Wild one of the best games ever, which, honestly, is not even a hot take. That game rewired how a lot of people think about open-world design.

When Shane asked her to explain the premise, Jenner basically broke down the core setup: Link wakes up long after a devastating war, Hyrule is ruined, Princess Zelda is still holding things down at the castle, and the player has to explore, recover memories, and prepare to face Ganon. She did forget the term Divine Beasts, and someone off-screen apparently threw in “Gandorf” instead of Ganon, but the overall vibe? Correct enough.

At the time of the recording, Jenner had already beaten one Divine Beast and was heading toward her second. She also said she had spent days and hours playing, which every Breath of the Wild player understands. You start by saying “I’ll just unlock one tower,” and suddenly it is 3AM, you are cooking dubious food, climbing in the rain, and fighting a Lynel you had no business challenging.

For Malaysian and SEA gamers, this is funny but also kind of familiar. Breath of the Wild has been one of those Nintendo Switch staples since launch — the type of game people buy with the console, especially if they are already into adventure games, Genshin-style exploration, or just want something premium to justify that Switch purchase. Even years later, it still gets recommended in local gaming groups because it holds up.

The celebrity angle also matters a bit. Gaming is already mainstream here, from Mobile Legends and Valorant to Switch party games at cafes and house gatherings, but seeing someone like Kylie Jenner casually nerd out over Zelda is another reminder that gaming is not some niche hobby anymore. Whether you are a streamer, student, office worker, or billionaire beauty mogul, Hyrule still has the same effect: it eats your free time.

Jenner is best known for her cosmetics and clothing businesses, with her family’s reality show The Kardashians currently airing on Hulu. Kotaku also notes she recently acted in Charli XCX’s mockumentary film The Moment. Somewhere between all that, she is apparently making time to save Hyrule.

Respect, honestly. She may not have every Zelda name locked in yet, but she got the emotional pitch right: the world is broken, Link has to fix it, Zelda is waiting, and the game is ridiculously easy to sink hours into.
