My Hero Ultra Impact Has Officially Shut Down After Four Years

My Hero Academia fans, one of the franchise’s bigger mobile projects has officially powered down.

My Hero Ultra Impact, the mobile game that launched back in 2022, ended service on May 18, 2026 at 12:00 JST — which is 11:00am for Malaysia and Singapore. The shutdown had already been announced earlier this spring, but now the end is properly official.

The game’s account posted a farewell message thanking players for supporting it over the years, while also confirming that the account itself would be closing on the same day. For players who stuck with the game through its full live-service run, that is a pretty final goodbye.

It is a slightly bittersweet moment because My Hero Academia as a franchise is actually having a major celebration year. The anime is marking its 10th anniversary, and even though the main TV anime wrapped up last fall, Toho Animation and the wider MHA team are still keeping the series active with new projects.

For SEA fans, especially those who mainly engage with anime franchises through mobile games, this shutdown hits a familiar nerve. Anime gacha and live-service games can become part of the daily routine — log in, clear missions, roll for favourite characters, flex your collection. But once service ends, the game basically becomes history, no matter how much time or money players put in.

That is the reality of modern anime mobile gaming, bro. Fun while it lasts, but nothing is permanent unless the publisher builds an offline version, and there is no mention here of My Hero Ultra Impact getting that kind of treatment.

The good news is that My Hero Academia is not leaving mobile players empty-handed. A new game, My Hero Academia United Survival, has already been announced. It is planned for App Store, Google Play, and Windows, so Malaysian and SEA fans should keep an eye on regional availability, device requirements, and whether the game gets proper English support at launch.

This also suggests the franchise is shifting rather than slowing down. Instead of keeping Ultra Impact alive forever, the team appears to be moving attention toward a fresh title that can serve current fans after the anime finale.

On the anime side, there is still plenty happening. My Hero Academia recently returned with a new episode titled “More”, an epilogue set after the finale. The special is streaming on Crunchyroll and focuses on Izuku Midoriya and the other heroes after the war, giving fans a clearer look at what life becomes after the main conflict.

Another short anime is also on the way. Titled “I am a hero too”, it adapts five manga pages released by creator Kohei Horikoshi in the My Hero Academia Ultra Age fan book. The short continues after “More” and follows an older Eri during her day, while also offering another glimpse at Deku’s future as a pro hero.

“I am a hero too” will premiere at Anime Expo 2026 in July, before streaming in Japan on August 3. International streaming details have not been confirmed yet, so Crunchyroll or other regional platforms are still a wait-and-see situation for Malaysia and SEA viewers.

So yes, My Hero Ultra Impact is done. But My Hero Academia itself is still very much alive — just entering its post-finale era with new anime extras, anniversary projects, and another mobile game waiting in the wings.
