Persona fans, looks like the door is opening again.
A Persona 3 Reload crossover event appears to be on the way for the worldwide version of Persona 5: The Phantom X, after teaser trailers surfaced on both the Japanese and English social media accounts for the game. No exact release date has been confirmed yet, but the timing strongly suggests global players will finally get access to content that previously appeared in the Asian release.
The teaser itself keeps things short and mysterious. It shows the familiar Dark Hour moon from Persona 3 Reload, paired with a voice line saying: “Good to see you again. Looking forward to working with you.” For Persona 3 fans, that is more than enough to start the theory-crafting engine.
This crossover is not completely unknown territory. Back in April 2025, the event already ran in the Asian version of Persona 5: The Phantom X. That earlier run featured Makoto Yuki, the protagonist of Persona 3 Reload, alongside event content connected to his game.
Based on that version, players can likely expect a crossover event that lets them explore a version of Tartarus inspired by Persona 3 Reload. The event also featured a gacha banner for Makoto Yuki, who appeared as a five-star unit.
In Persona 5: The Phantom X, Makoto uses Orpheus as his Persona. He is a fire-damage character and is also resistant to fire. His role is Assassin, which means he is built more like a single-target DPS unit rather than a wide-area nuker. He also seems to carry over Theurgy-style mechanics from Persona 3 Reload, which is a nice touch for fans who actually played the remake and know how satisfying those big attacks can be.
For Malaysian and SEA players, this is the kind of crossover that matters because Persona 5: The Phantom X sits right in that mobile-PC gacha space many of us already understand: daily logins, banner planning, resource saving, and the eternal pain of deciding whether to pull now or wait. If Makoto arrives as he did in the earlier Asian event, Persona 3 Reload fans may want to start saving currency instead of randomly spending on every shiny new unit.
The crossover also comes after the game’s recent 4.0 update, which added Phantom Thief Luce, Phantom Idol Ange, new storylines, and additional events. In other words, Persona 5: The Phantom X is not slowing down. The global version seems to be moving toward bigger collaborations and more content parity with earlier regional releases.
Persona 5: The Phantom X is available on PC and mobile devices, while Persona 3 Reload is available on Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
No confirmed launch date has been announced for the worldwide Persona 3 Reload crossover yet, so don’t go all-in on assumptions. But if you are a Persona fan in Malaysia or SEA, this is definitely one to watch — especially if Makoto Yuki is your guy.
