Re:ZERO fans, the next suffering session is almost here.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 4 has released the preview trailer and image for Episode 7, which is also Episode 73 overall for the anime. The episode is scheduled to premiere on May 20, 2026, continuing the season that kicked off on April 8.
For Malaysian and SEA anime fans following the weekly Spring 2026 lineup, Re:ZERO is clearly one of the heavy hitters this season. Anime Corner noted that Season 4 placed first in the first three weekly polls of the season, and also topped the sixth poll. That is not surprising lah — Re:ZERO has always been the kind of show that turns one episode into a full Discord debate about trauma, timelines, and whether Subaru is okay. Spoiler: probably not.
Season 4 is split into two arcs
This season is planned for 19 episodes in total, handled by studio WHITE FOX. The release is structured across two consecutive cours and two story arcs:
- The Loss Arc: 11 episodes, starting April 8, 2026
- The Recapture Arc: 8 episodes, starting August 12, 2026
Both arcs are still considered part of Season 4, continuing after the events of Season 3. Based on the announced episode count, there should be roughly a two-month gap after June 17 before the Recapture Arc begins on August 12, assuming there are no recap episodes or extra weekly breaks in between.
For viewers here, that gap actually matters. Spring anime season is already crowded, and Re:ZERO taking a short pause before returning in Summer 2026 gives fans time to catch up, rewatch key scenes, or finally explain to that one friend why this isekai is not just another “guy wakes up in fantasy world” story.
Main staff and cast return for more pain
Season 4 is directed by Masahiro Shinohara, with Masahiro Yokotani on series composition. Tappei Nagatsuki, the original author, is credited as scenario supervisor, while Shinichiro Otsuka remains the original character designer. Haruka Sagawa handles character design and chief animation direction, with Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music.
The cast includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Subaru, Rie Takahashi as Emilia, Yumi Uchiyama as Puck, Inori Minase as Rem, Rie Murakawa as Ram, Satomi Arai as Beatrice, Kana Ueda as Anastasia, Takuya Eguchi as Julius, and Fairouz Ai as Shaula.
The Re:ZERO anime first aired in 2016, adapting the light novel by Tappei Nagatsuki with illustrations by Shinichirou Otsuka. The franchise is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, with 10 major projects announced.
If you are watching weekly from Malaysia or anywhere in SEA, Episode 7 looks like another one to catch fast before the timeline gets spoiled all over social media. Re:ZERO fans move quickly, bro.
