Capcom has locked in the next Street Fighter 6 DLC drop: Ingrid joins the roster on May 28, 2026. The reveal came with a new gameplay video showing how the returning Capcom fighter looks and moves in SF6’s current engine, and honestly, she looks built for players who enjoy making opponents second-guess every button.
For newer fans, Ingrid is not exactly one of the most mainstream Street Fighter names. She first appeared in 2004’s Capcom Fighting Evolution before later turning up in Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX. That makes her return in Street Fighter 6 a pretty deep-cut pick — the kind of DLC choice that will get longtime Capcom fighting game fans talking, while also giving newer players someone fresh to learn.
Her theme in the trailer is called “Cosmic Scale Pretty,” which fits the whole vibe. Ingrid’s attacks are wrapped in golden, star-like effects, giving her a very different visual identity from the more grounded martial artists on the roster. But this is not just a pretty effects showcase. Her kit seems to revolve around setting up pressure, powering herself up, and forcing reads.
The big mechanic Capcom highlighted is Sun Crests. Ingrid can build up to four of them, and those crests can strengthen her attacks. That already sounds like the kind of system lab monsters will be grinding in training mode on day one, especially if the buffs change combo routes or pressure options in meaningful ways.
She also has Sun Veil, a special move that works as a counterattack. For Malaysian and SEA players who spend long ranked nights dealing with hyper-aggressive Ken, Cammy, or Juri players, a proper counter tool can be a huge deal — if it is fast enough and not too risky. Then there is Vanishing Sun, which lets Ingrid teleport in different directions. That one is clearly designed for mind games, side switches, and making opponents panic-block at the wrong time.
Her Super Arts are Shining Sun, Order of the Sun, and Cosmic Ray. Capcom has not broken down every detail in plain terms yet, but based on the trailer and move descriptions, Ingrid looks like a character with a lot of trickiness rather than a simple walk-forward-and-hit-you gameplan.
Ingrid is part of the Street Fighter 6 Year 3 Season Pass. If you already own that pass, she will unlock automatically when she releases. She is also the final character for Year 3, so this update should basically close out the season’s DLC lineup. Capcom also confirmed that Outfit 3s for everyone will release on the same day, so even players who are not planning to main Ingrid still have something to check out.
For the SEA fighting game community, this is another reason to jump back in before the next wave of local tournaments, community meetups, and online sets. A new character always shakes up ranked for a few weeks, and Ingrid’s teleport-plus-buff toolkit sounds like exactly the sort of thing that can catch people slipping if they do not learn the matchup early.
Street Fighter 6 is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch 2, and Windows PC. Ingrid arrives on May 28, 2026.
