The Duskbloods and Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Still Look Set for Switch 2 in 2026

FromSoftware fans eyeing the Switch 2 can breathe a bit easier, but don’t start booking leave just yet. Kadokawa’s latest financial materials still list The Duskbloods and Elden Ring Tarnished Edition as games expected for release in 2026 on Nintendo’s next console.

The update comes from Kadokawa’s earnings results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. Since Kadokawa owns FromSoftware, its gaming segment forecast gives us a useful check-in on what the studio has lined up. In those forecast slides, both The Duskbloods and Elden Ring Tarnished Edition are still positioned as 2026 Switch 2 titles.

Important detail, though: this is not the same thing as a locked release date. Kadokawa’s wording points to expectations and forecasts, not a full launch announcement. So yes, 2026 is still the target, but until Nintendo, FromSoftware, or Bandai Namco gives proper dated trailers, Malaysian players should treat this as “on track for now” rather than confirmed-confirmed.

For SEA players, that distinction matters. A lot of people here are likely waiting to see whether Switch 2 is worth jumping into early, especially if local pricing, warranty support, and game availability become deciding factors. A proper portable Elden Ring experience would be a strong reason to care, especially for players who skipped Steam Deck-style handhelds and prefer Nintendo hardware. But if the port slips again, the Switch 2 launch-year value becomes a bit less spicy for Souls fans.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is the Switch 2 version of FromSoftware’s huge open-world action RPG. The base game is already available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, so the big question is how well it will translate to Nintendo’s new hardware. For Malaysian players who already own it on PC or PlayStation, this version will probably depend on performance, portability, and whether the package feels worth double-dipping.

The Duskbloods is the more mysterious one. Kadokawa also highlighted it under “eagerly awaited upcoming titles,” alongside Spike Chunsoft’s Danganronpa 2 x 2. The report notes The Duskbloods is planned for worldwide release in 2026, but there is still no specific date. Kadokawa’s FAQ also confirms Nintendo is a partner on the project, and that no sales forecast is being shared yet.

That Nintendo partnership is the big signal. The Duskbloods is being framed as a Switch 2 exclusive, which makes it one of the more interesting third-party titles tied to the console. FromSoftware doing something new for Nintendo hardware is automatically worth watching, especially in SEA where Nintendo communities can be smaller but very dedicated. If the game lands well, it could become one of those titles that pulls hardcore players into the platform.

Kadokawa’s materials also mention Danganronpa 2 x 2 for 2026, with releases planned for Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. That is good news for visual novel and mystery fans too, but for the gaming crowd, the headline is clearly FromSoftware keeping both Switch 2 projects inside the 2026 window.

For now, the takeaway is simple: The Duskbloods and Elden Ring Tarnished Edition are still alive for 2026, but neither has a firm launch date. If you’re planning your Switch 2 purchase around them, wait for the next proper Nintendo or FromSoftware showcase before committing. Hype can, but wallet must still think, bro.
