Solo Leveling fans, this one is worth putting on your radar.
With no clear update yet on when Solo Leveling will continue, Tomb Raider King is stepping into the spotlight with a new action-heavy trailer — and yes, the comparison is pretty obvious. It is another Korean webcomic adaptation built around a sharp-looking main character, supernatural power systems, betrayal, and revenge. Basically, the kind of thing that can easily hook fans who miss watching Sung Jinwoo clear enemies like it is a ranked grind.
Tomb Raider King is based on the original webcomic by SANG, which first launched through Kakao’s digital platforms in 2016. The anime is a Korean animated project being produced for Kadokawa, with an official Japanese release planned for July as part of the Summer 2026 anime season.
The setup is simple but juicy: mysterious tombs suddenly appear around the world, each hiding powerful treasures. The lead character, Ryoga, gets betrayed by his employer, but instead of just taking the L, he uses what he knows about these tombs to chase revenge against the people who wronged him.
That is where Tomb Raider King separates itself from Solo Leveling. This is not really about grinding levels or unlocking new powers through a system like Jinwoo. Ryoga’s advantage is knowledge. He knows what is coming, where the best tombs are, and how to grab the right treasures before everyone else catches up. Sometimes that means power, sometimes that means money — either way, bro is playing New Game Plus while everyone else is still reading the tutorial.
For Malaysian and SEA anime fans, this could be a fun one to watch because Korean webcomic adaptations are clearly becoming a bigger part of the anime conversation. Solo Leveling already proved that manhwa-style power fantasy can hit globally, especially with fans who enjoy fast pacing, clean action, and main characters who go from victim to menace. Tomb Raider King looks like it is aiming for that same crowd, but with more treasure-hunting and revenge strategy baked in.
The production team is also interesting. Seung Wook Woo is directing and writing the scripts at STUDIO EEK. Hyun-Jung Lee is handling character designs and serving as chief animation director, while Hyung Jun Heo is also listed as chief animation director. Music will be composed by Ju Young Kim.
The opening theme, “Showdown,” will be performed by Korean pop group QWER, marking their first anime theme song. On the Japanese voice cast side, Yoshimasa Hosoya leads as Ryoga Goriki, joined by Saori Hayami as Irene Holton, Junichi Suwabe as Taisei Ogawara, Miyu Irino as Kotaro Yanagi, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Noboru Kureha.
The only catch for now: international streaming plans have not been announced yet. So for Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the rest of SEA, we still need to wait and see whether platforms like Crunchyroll, Netflix, or another regional service picks it up.
Still, if the trailer’s energy carries into the full series, Tomb Raider King could be one of the more interesting Korean webcomic anime drops of Summer 2026. Not every Solo Leveling-adjacent show needs to be the next big global monster, but if this nails the action and revenge pacing, it could scratch that same itch nicely.
