Discord Nitro Rewards Adds Xbox Game Pass, Gaming Gear Discounts, And More Orbs
Discord Nitro is no longer just about better emojis, bigger uploads, and a nicer-looking profile. Discord is pushing the subscription deeper into gaming with Nitro Rewards, a new perks program that adds Xbox Game Pass access, gaming hardware discounts, and extra Orbs for subscribers.
For Malaysian and SEA gamers, this is worth watching because Discord is already the default lepak spot for many gaming squads, esports communities, anime servers, and college friend groups. If Nitro can bundle actual game access and gear savings into the same monthly subscription, it starts looking less like a pure chat upgrade and more like a gaming membership.
Xbox Game Pass is the big headline
The main perk is Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition, which is now included with Discord Nitro without increasing the Nitro subscription price.
According to Discord, Nitro subscribers get access to a rotating library of more than 50 games playable across PC and Xbox consoles. The bundle also includes 10 hours of cloud gaming, letting users stream selected games instead of downloading them first.
That cloud gaming detail is interesting, but SEA readers should keep expectations realistic. Cloud access and specific Game Pass benefits can depend heavily on region, eligibility, and platform support. If you are in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, or the Philippines, check your Nitro Home page and local Xbox/Game Pass availability before assuming every perk will appear exactly the same.
Still, the idea is strong. A lot of Malaysian gamers are already juggling subscriptions: Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, YouTube Premium, Spotify, mobile battle passes, gacha monthly cards — memang sakit wallet bro. If Discord can combine chat perks with a game library, Nitro may suddenly feel more useful, especially for PC players who use Discord every day.
Discord also says more games will be added over time as part of the Game Pass library.
Gaming gear discounts are included too
Nitro Rewards is also launching with discounts from several gaming hardware brands. The current partners include:
- Up to 30% off Logitech G gaming gear
- Up to 20% off KontrolFreek products
- Up to 15% off SteelSeries headsets and accessories
These offers cover the kind of stuff gamers actually buy: mice, keyboards, headsets, controllers, and accessories.
For Malaysia, the important question will be how these discounts work with local retailers, shipping, and regional stores. A 30% discount sounds nice, but if it only applies to selected markets or has expensive shipping, the value drops fast. If Discord can make these offers usable across SEA properly, then it becomes much more compelling.
Nitro subscribers get more Orbs
Discord is also expanding its Orbs system for Nitro members.
Subscribers will now receive 250 Orbs every month as long as their Nitro subscription stays active. Nitro users also get an Orbs Multiplier, which increases the Orbs earned through normal Discord Quests.
Orbs can be spent in Discord’s Shop on profile cosmetics and other digital rewards. It is not as exciting as free games, but for people who enjoy customising their Discord presence, this makes Nitro feel more rewarding month to month.
Discord is turning Nitro into a wider gaming bundle
Before this, Nitro was mainly about Discord-native upgrades like animated emojis, customisation, and other profile or server perks. Nitro Rewards changes the direction. Discord is now trying to make Nitro useful outside the app itself, with subscriptions, hardware deals, and gaming-linked rewards.
Discord says this is only the beginning, with more partners and benefits planned throughout 2026.
The rollout is happening gradually over the coming weeks in eligible regions. Existing Nitro subscribers should check the Nitro Home section inside Discord once the update reaches their account. Some perks may differ depending on region and eligibility.
For SEA gamers, the value will come down to one thing: whether the Game Pass access and discounts are actually available locally. If yes, Nitro just became way more tempting. If not, it is still a cool direction — just one Malaysian gamers should verify before hitting subscribe.
