COLORFUL iGame B850M ULTRA Series Targets Compact Ryzen Gaming Builds

COLORFUL has introduced its new iGame B850M ULTRA Series motherboards for AMD Ryzen platforms, and this one looks aimed squarely at builders who want a compact rig without going full budget-board mode.

The lineup includes two microATX models: the iGame B850M ULTRA-S and the iGame B850M ULTRA-OC. Both are built around AMD’s B850 platform and support Ryzen 9000 Series X3D processors, which immediately makes them relevant for gamers chasing strong CPU performance without needing a massive ATX board.

For Malaysian and SEA PC builders, this kind of board hits a pretty practical sweet spot. microATX cases are popular here because not everyone has space for a huge tower setup, especially if your desk is already fighting for room with speakers, figures, a second monitor and maybe a PS5. A smaller motherboard also gives builders more flexibility for clean compact builds, while still keeping the features that matter for gaming.

The big spec highlights are PCIe 5.0 support for both the main x16 graphics card slot and M.2 storage. That means the board is ready for newer GPUs and fast SSDs, even if most gamers today are still fine with PCIe 4.0 hardware. Future-proofing is the play here. If you are building a Ryzen PC now and planning to upgrade the GPU or SSD later, having PCIe 5.0 already on the board helps stretch the system longer.

COLORFUL is also adding some builder-friendly touches, including a VGA snap-fit quick release for the PCIe slot and an M.2 Quick Latch for storage installation. These sound small, but anyone who has tried removing a chunky graphics card inside a cramped case knows the pain. Bro, that little PCIe latch can become a boss fight when your GPU cooler is blocking everything.

The boards also support high-speed DDR5 memory, which is expected for a modern Ryzen platform, plus high-speed USB connectivity including USB Type-C interfaces. For creators and gamers in SEA, that matters because setups are getting busier: capture cards, external SSDs, audio gear, controllers, handhelds, phones and webcams all fighting for ports.

Design-wise, COLORFUL is going for an all-black look with matte-finish cooling armor. The company says the boards are made to visually match its iGame GeForce RTX 50 Series ULTRA graphics cards, so the target audience is clearly the gamer who wants a coordinated blacked-out build rather than a random mix of parts.

The ULTRA-OC model name also suggests COLORFUL is positioning at least one variant toward enthusiasts and overclocking users, though the key public details here focus more on power delivery, connectivity and layout than deep tuning specs.

No Malaysia pricing or local availability was included in the source material, so local builders should wait for retailer listings before deciding if this is the best-value B850 option. If the price lands right, though, this could be an interesting board for Ryzen 9000 X3D gaming PCs, especially for compact builds that still want premium features.
