GTA 6 pre-order talk is heating up again, and honestly, this is the kind of news Malaysian gamers should keep one eye on — especially if you are planning to buy the game day one.
According to GamesRadar, several signs are now pointing towards GTA 6 pre-orders potentially going live soon. Nothing has been officially announced by Rockstar yet, so jangan panic-buy anything, but the timing does make sense.
The biggest clue right now comes from reported Best Buy affiliate marketing emails. Multiple online creators and outlets claim they received emails preparing for a GTA 6 pre-order campaign, with some pointing to May 18 as the possible starting window. Again, this is not the same as Rockstar saying, “yes, pre-orders open now,” but it does suggest retailers may be getting ready behind the scenes.
There was also a Dutch retailer listing from Game Shop Twente showing GTA 6 at €99. Before everyone screams “RM500 game confirmed”, relax dulu. GamesRadar notes that this shop has a habit of using placeholder listings for upcoming games, separate from official publisher details. In other words, the €99 price is not hard proof of GTA 6’s final price.
Still, the price question is the one everyone cares about.
Right now, Rockstar has not confirmed how much GTA 6 will cost. The current big-game standard is usually around US$69.99 / £69.99, but there is plenty of speculation that GTA 6 could push higher. GamesRadar suggests US$79.99 may be possible if publishers decide to move beyond the usual US$69.99 bracket, while the much-feared US$99.99 standard edition seems less certain after Take-Two’s CEO appeared to calm those rumours somewhat.
For Malaysia, this matters a lot. A US$79.99 game converts to roughly the RM370-ish range before local store pricing, platform adjustments, and any regional pricing weirdness. If special editions, shark-card-style bundles, or collector versions appear, expect those to go much higher. Console players here already know the pain: new PS5 and Xbox Series X releases are not cheap, and GTA 6 is probably not going to be the game that suddenly becomes budget-friendly.
The release date is also locked in for now: GTA 6 is officially scheduled for November 19, 2026. That gives Rockstar about six months to ramp up marketing, which lines up with why pre-orders could start soon. The game was previously expected earlier, but delays pushed it into this November window. Rockstar is also expected to begin heavier launch marketing during the summer, so a pre-order announcement would fit the bigger rollout.
One important thing for PC gamers: don’t get your hopes too high just yet. The confirmed November 19 date is for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date, so if pre-orders do appear in the coming days, they will likely be console-only first. Painful, but also very Rockstar. PC players in Malaysia may need to wait longer, just like with some previous Rockstar launches.
So what should you actually do? If you are in Malaysia or SEA, wait for official Rockstar channels or trusted local retailers before placing money anywhere. Watch PlayStation Store Malaysia, Xbox’s regional store, and reputable game shops. Also, check whether the listed version is a standard edition or some deluxe bundle pretending to be the default option.
GTA 6 pre-orders feel close, but the smart move is simple: don’t chase leaks, don’t overpay for placeholders, and don’t assume PC is included until Rockstar says so.
