Announced by Sony Electronics, this new addition is positioned as a more refined take on the company’s well-known 1000X series, focusing not just on sound and noise cancelling, but also materials, comfort and overall design feel. Basically, Sony is using the 10-year milestone to say: this is what the 1000X line has learned after a decade of chasing better personal audio.
The 1000X story started back in 2016 with the MDR-1000X, a headphone that helped push Sony seriously into the premium noise-cancelling space.
